Cancer Rehab

Cancer affects an estimated 1 in 3 individuals either through their own diagnosis or that of a loved one.  The good news is that fewer people are dying from cancer, however, there are 10 million cancer survivors and of these 72-95% experience severe negative side effects and potential cancer recurrence.

Cancer and cancer treatments have the potential for cancer survivors to experience cardiovascular, respiratory, metabolic, immune, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, hepatic, neuroendocrine, kidney and dermatological toxicities.  These side effects leave cancer survivors struggling to regain the quality of life they experienced before cancer diagnosis.  The negative side effects of cancer treatments are closely related to the positive effects that are observed with exercise.

Since the beneficial effects of exercise closely mirror the negative effects of cancer treatments, Spectrum Rehabilitation & Wellness Cancer Rehabilitation was started to help cancer survivors regain the quality of life they had before cancer through therapeutic exercise interventions.
